Book Launch!
Word Nerd proudly presents...
Not About the Medal
...the first book in its Education line
Book Launch & Author Signing: Saturday, April 28, 2012
Three-time Olympian Leah Pells releases her book
Not About the Medal. After just missing a bronze
in the 1996 Summer Olympics by a half-second,
Leah was thrilled, not disappointed.
For her, the Olympic dream symbolized more than a ranking
-but a triumph over a tumultuous upbringing
in the single-parent of an alcoholic.
"Some people said, 'You were so close to a medal. Too bad,' states Leah. "Those people don't really know me.
They don't know where I've been or come from."
